Evans has an immediate need for bright, motivated business management consultant in our Northern Virginia office and at client sites in DC.

About the Role

Evans is looking for a team member to support two integrated functions related to supporting corporate growth – Business Development (BD) and Marketing.

Business Development Support

Approximately two-thirds of the team member’s time will be working with the Director of Corporate Business Development (BD) and BD Account Leads performing a range of activities. The team member will help ensure the overall effectiveness and consistency of Evans’ corporate business development process. Specific duties include:

  • Monitoring GovWin and other procurement portals to identify and qualify leads across all BD accounts
  • Oversight of Evans pipeline, including developing reports to communicate pipeline health and remediation recommendations
  • Working with BD Account Leads to implement business development process standards and recommending BD process improvements
  • Supporting the preparation of materials regarding Evans’ value proposition relative to specific opportunities
  • Attending business development meetings with prospective clients and partners
  • Liaising with Offices of Small Disadvantaged Business Units in key Federal departments and agencies
  • Supporting proposal development and coordination
  • Supporting Evans Gate Review process
  • Maintaining corporate repositories for proposals, whitepapers
Marketing Support

In addition to the business development support function, the consultant will spend approximately one-third of their time supporting corporate marketing activities and BD account-specific activities. Marketing responsibilities will include:

  • Working with the Marketing Manager to refine the Evans brand
  • Developing marketing materials to be used to promote Evans corporate brand and value proposition to prospective clients
  • Provide market analysis to identify and shape market opportunities where Evans services would be valued and desired
  • Assisting with the definition of Evans’ value proposition for specific solutions, and service and product offerings
  • Conduct market testing of various corporate solutions to assess demand for services and products
  • Support the execution of marketing campaigns, in coordination with BD
  • Provide content for Press Releases and support use of social media to promote Evans brand and services

Desired Skills and Traits

  • Experience supporting BD and Marketing functions for a growing Government Contracting firm
  • Working effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, and ability to meet deadlines under pressure
  • Exacting attention to detail
  • Working in the federal consulting environment and solid understanding of Federal procurement processes and regulations
  • Excellent writing skills and expertise in supporting development of proposals or corporate value propositions for public and commercial clients
  • Multi-tasking – ability to handle multiple assignments and functions at one time
  • Self-starter who can also work independently in performing various functions
  • Effective communications skills, written and verbal
  • Experience coordinating activities amongst and across corporate teams

What Position Will Entail

  • Highly collaborative working environment, at headquarters 4-5 days per week
  • Maintain attention to detail while scheduling meetings involving multiple stakeholders, planning agendas, facilitating meetings, and following up with attendees regarding action items
  • Communicate comfortably with colleagues, prospective clients and partners at varying levels of seniority, conveying respect and instilling confidence in ability to satisfy their needs
  • Team based working environment, generally, but opportunities to also work independently
  • Local travel, primarily, to meet with prospective clients and partners
  • Support of multiple business development accounts in identifying, tracking and capturing work related to a range of commercial and public consulting engagements
  • Ensuring adherence to Evans BD Process and consistency in how pipelines, gate reviews and proposal processes are maintained across BD account teams
  • Development of proposals and coordination amongst proposal teams to meet tight deadlines and fulfill all proposal requirements
  • Actively liaising between business development and marketing teams to ensure effective coordination and alignment
  • Supporting a range of marketing activities to generate leads for the business development team and promote Evans’ brand
