Outreach
Our trusted advisors go beyond delivering remarkable service to our clients. We give our time, knowledge, and expertise to help individuals and non-profit organizations in our community, and find innovative ways to create communities of learning and growth within Evans. Here are just a few ways that Evans builds connections among leaders and the community:
Blogs – Staff of all levels contribute cutting-edge ideas to our blog on topics ranging from program management to leadership.
Service – While our clients consist of leaders in governmental and international institutions, we give back to the rich and diverse community of the D.C. area as well. In the 2011-2012 FY we have: cooked over 100 servings of gourmet meals for food kitchens, held multiple canned food drives for the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC), donated over 75 pieces of professional business clothing to homeless women (Dress for Success), and raised over $3000 for the 2012 Komen Global Race for the Cure.
Academia – Through our educational reimbursement program, our consultants regularly continue their education through advanced degree programs in Leadership Coaching, Knowledge Management, and Organization Development. In the 2011-2012 FY our consultants exchanged best practices and learning with their peers at Georgetown University, American University, and George Mason University.
Conferences – Whether as presenters or participants, our consultants frequently engage in local and national conferences related to our client industries, and the fields of Process Improvement or Change Management. Staffs’ professional development plans encourage this, and are supported by our reimbursement program for association membership fees and conference registration fees.
Internal Seminars – We host an internal employee-led series of monthly seminars ranging from formal presentations to informal “Brown Bag series”. Staff regularly share cutting-edge best practices and approaches with each other to enhance our individual growth and enable us to translate these best practices in the field to our clients.
Credentials – Over 50% of Evans staff are actively credentialed or pursuing credentials from the Project Management Institute.
Other Venues – Founder, President and CEO Sue Evans is highlighted in the media on a regular basis. You can listen to her interview on Business Destiny Radio Address as she describes Evans’ best practices in promoting employee growth and development.
