Position-level: Senior Consultant (Bachelors with 12-15 years of experience or Masters with 9-12 years of experience)

About the Customer

This role is an opportunity to support a federal government client within the transportation industry. Working with experienced project team members, you will help our client foster strong organizational communications across the organization. The client looks to Evans for planning and execution for strategic communications to enhance the organization’s capacity to meet its mission.

Desired Skills and Traits

Required:

  • Strong formal, written communications including creation of technical writing, editing, staff features, briefings
  • Experience with supporting meeting planning and execution including agenda development, logistical planning, facilitation, and capturing meeting notes
  • Experience conducting communications planning and developing key messages with ability to translate complex technical language into plain language and/or engaging visuals.
  • Experience improving quality, efficiency, and effectiveness by which client program information is shared and communicated
  • Ability to listen to clients’ challenges and proactively help them solve problems and follow through on actions
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to support multiple activities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to quickly learn a new technical subject and distill important information
  • Ability to influence progress and achieve goals in environments where client presence and sponsorship of individual work tasks varies significantly
  • Strong skills in the Microsoft Office Suite – specifically, in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • This person will also be acting as the Task Order Lead for Evans for this project so minimal budgeting and forecasting will be required.

The following skills are highly desired but not required:

  • Experience in Federal consulting environment
  • Understanding of/experience with aviation
  • PMP is a nice “extra” but not required
What Position Will Entail
  • Collaborative work with client and other FAA personnel, onsite at FAA 3-5 days per week
  • Develop briefings for program-level to senior executives, including talking points and visual aids (e.g., infographics, charts, timelines)
  • Drafting or reviewing and editing articles for internal publication
  • Tracking many action items and helping client meet deadlines
  • Scheduling meetings with multiple stakeholders, planning agendas, facilitating, and following up with attendees regarding actions
  • Communicating with customers at varying levels of seniority, conveying respect, and instilling confidence in ability to satisfy their needs
  • Completing work independently and in a team environment; being proactive in identifying challenges or opportunities and proposing unique approaches
