Evans has an immediate need for a bright, motivated business management consultant in our Northern Virginia office and at client sites in DC.

About the Customer

This US government civilian client is the executive office of a Program Management Organization (PMO) charged with managing a portfolio of hundreds of millions of dollars in capital investment focused at modernizing and sustaining the National Airspace System (NAS). With a few hundred federal employees and well over twice that number in support contractors and consultants, this client is a large organization needing a range of business and technical communications and analyst support. The PMO assembles in one organization the majority of programs that specialize in program management. This allows operational groups to focus on the key daily mission of safely operating and maintaining our airspace system. And it allows the program organization to focus on managing for better outcomes by developing improvements to the operation and making sure these solutions are on time, cost effective and within scope.

Desired Skills and Traits
  • Strong written and verbal communicator
  • Strong analyst – ability to conduct research, elicit salient themes or relevant details from a range of content sources, and present information to a non-technical audience in a clear and intelligible manner
  • Ability to work well independently, with little direction and while balancing competing priorities
  • Proactive in addressing problems, framing needs for clarification, balancing workload, and communicating with management and executive staff
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment and responsive to often unanticipated needs or requirements from multiple stakeholders
  • Strong problem solver and analyst
  • Proficient in all MS Office applications
  • Background in FAA, Communications, and experience working with the federal government all *strongly* desired
  • 5-8+ years experience minimum, Bachelor’s degree (PMP and potentially Master’s degree desired), experience with FAA strongly desired
What Position Will Entail
  • Support organizational communications (i.e. newsletters, e-mails from leadership, ad-hoc communications for different stakeholder groups)
  • Develop and periodically post SharePoint content; facilitate SharePoint upkeep
  • Providing as-needed communications, analyst, or related support to Director and Deputy Director
  • Provide as-needed to support to Leadership Team
  • Supporting the planning, conduct, logistics, and follow-up from communications-related events:
    • All-hands
    • Awards
    • Leadership working sessions or events
    • Group managers forum(s)
  • Supporting coordination with ad-hoc federal executive office communication needs:
    • Congressional responses
    • Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) responses
    • FAA Air Traffic Organization (ATO) leadership requests for information
