Evans has an immediate need for a bright, motivated IT Support Technician in our Northern Virginia office. In this position, the successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of our technology infrastructure to include various software applications. He/she will also be the main point of contact for employees who are experiencing computer issues, will provide and or coordinate technical support with our senior system engineers. He/she will be part of a team that ensures the company systems run smoothly by monitoring and maintaining said systems, providing support with installing and configuring hardware and software, solving technical problems and interacting with our off-site technical support company.

About the Customer

Our client’s supports the budgetary, financial, and human capital resource management and administration for an organization of approximately 500 government employees and over 1,000 contractors. The work of this organization focuses on sustaining the systems used to enable Air Traffic Control within the high-altitude air traffic domains. Key functions include program management, systems engineering, site support, field automation support, system test, and others that, together, work directly with field personnel, as well as large capital programs that will have an impact on the National Airspace System (NAS).

Desired Skills and Traits
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 3+ years’ experience in computer networks and systems maintenance, preferred
  • 2+ years’ experience on current network operating systems, preferred
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage stress effectively in high-pressure situations
  • Understanding of IT principles and an ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to a varied audience, in person and in writing
  • Strong sense of discretion and confidentiality required
  • A technical, logical thought process, keen eye for detail, and efficient problem-solving skills
  • An ability to stick to strict deadlines and prioritize
  • Ability lift and carry heavy equipment up to 50 lbs
  • Experience with Microsoft O365 including OneDrive and SharePoint online required
  • Microsoft Access Database experience – preferred
  • Experience and understanding of the following a plus – Azure AD, Fusemail, NetExtender, VoIP, Barco ClickShare System
What Position Will Entail

This position will work with the client to design and implement processes, tools, and trainings needed to improve the manner in which program budgets are defined, implemented and reported. The scope of this role includes, but is not limited to:

  • Assist personnel with installation, configuration and ongoing usability of computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, copiers and scanners
  • Offer daily operations and systems support to personnel, assist with computer issues and answer employees’ questions
  • Respond in a timely manner to service issues and requests, troubleshoot hardware and software issues in person, remotely and via phone
  • Assist with company Intranet maintenance and requests
  • Coordinate network backup operations, monitor and support maintenance of computer systems and networks
  • Set up O365 accounts for new users
  • Test new technology and repair and replace equipment as necessary
  • Provide training and support for new software/equipment on an individual basis, and for groups
  • Provide written updates to employees for monthly newsletters and staff meetings
  • Provide technical writing/instructions for new systems/software
  • Assist with re-design for our internal IT SharePoint site in addition to maintaining the site with useful information for staff
  • Responsible for maintaining adequate hardware inventory to include laptops, monitors, and various computer components/accessories
